Enjoy hands-on feeding opportunities throughout the Adventure Zoo and Drive-Thru Safari! Offer crisp lettuce and specialty feed as animals come right up to you for an up-close, interactive experience.
Guests are welcome to offer feed during each experience’s designated hours; however, animal participation is voluntary. Activity levels and willingness to engage may vary throughout the day, as each experience is guided by the animals’ natural behaviors and current weather conditions. When temperatures are below 55 degrees, giraffe and tortoise feeding experiences are not available. For the safety and well-being of our giraffes, the feeding experience will be temporarily suspended if lightning is detected within a designated radius of the zoo and will remain closed until conditions have cleared and it is safe to resume.

Grab a bag of feed and get ready for one of the most exciting parts of your visit! As you make your way through the Safari, animals may even approach your vehicle ready for a snack! It’s a fun, interactive way to connect with the animals, snap incredible photos, and turn your drive into an unforgettable adventure.

Animal encounters are led by our Animal Care and Education Team. You'll learn about conservation efforts in the wild, all about the animal, how we take care of them, their natural habitat, diet, and more.
Please arrive at the Encounter Outpost (across from the Animal Barn) 10-15 minutes before your scheduled time. If you arrive more than 5 minutes after your encounter start time, you will not be allowed to participate
Yes! Animal well-being is a top priority at Aggieland Safari. Encounters are exhilarating for the people and a positive experience for the animals involved.

To reserve an encounter in advance online, the purchase of an Adventure Pass is required.
Adventure Pass and encounter bundles are available as packages through our online ticketing service. Online purchases can be made by navigating to the Packages page.
Guests purchasing a Safari Pass are not eligible to purchase Animal Encounters.
Cancellations or changes must be made at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled encounter time. We do not offer refunds for encounters or no-shows. Guests who provide proper notice may reschedule their experience, and online bookings can be managed directly through your reservation to change the date as needed.
Personal items such as bags, purses, or other loose items are not permitted within the enclosures. Guests may bring a camera or cell phone to take photos. It is best to leave personal effects in your vehicle; however, your Encounter Host will also be able to safely store your personal effects in a designated locked location during your Encounter.
Closed-toed shoes are required for all encounters, and loose-fitting clothing is discouraged. During or after rain, some enclosures may have shallow standing water or muddy areas, so guests should wear footwear suitable for brief wet or muddy conditions, such as rubber boots or rubber-soled shoes.
Currently, online tickets only allow the selection of one animal encounter with admission. However, if you wish to add additional Animal Encounters during the same visit, please contact the park directly to arrange availability.
